NEW: THEORY TEST UPDATE FROMVSA 6th May 2020

Theory tests cancelled up to and including 30 May 2020

Due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, all theory tests have been cancelled up to and including 30 May 2020.

What DVSA are doing

We are emailing anyone with a test booked up to 30 May 2020 to let them know it has been cancelled and that they will be automatically refunded. It can take up to 10 working days for the refund to show back in the account it was paid from.

If you've booked a test for your pupils

If you have booked a test for any of your pupils during these dates, you will need to contact them to let them know that their test has been cancelled.

Emergency theory tests

An emergency theory testing service will still be available to those who have a critical need to take a test, such as NHS and front line workers.

Please do not call our customer service centre as they will not be able to help. Stay up to date on the latest information on GOV.UK.

We will be monitoring the situation and we will let you know if we need to cancel any more tests.

Driving tests

Driving tests are suspended for up to 3 months.

Car driving tests

You’ll get an email to tell you when your car driving test has been rebooked. It will tell you the new date and time of your test.

You will not get this email immediately - it should arrive around 2 weeks before your original test date.

It’s likely that your new test date will be around 3 months after your original date.

Book an emergency test if you’re a critical worker

You can still get an emergency test while tests are suspended if your work is critical to the COVID-19 response as set out in the guidelines about workers who are eligible for educational provision for their children. These include:

  • health and social care
  • education and childcare
  • key public services
  • local and national government
  • food and other necessary goods
  • public safety and national security
  • transport
  • utilities, communication and financial services

I am a fully qualified Driving Instructor with the aim of delivering  the best quality driver training in the area.

Prior to becoming a driving  instructor  I spent over 30 years, working for Sainsbury's in management and marketing. The vast majority  of this time was spent coaching young people on a one to one basis, instilling a passion for teaching which has now led me to becoming a driving instructor.

I also spent 10 years coaching and managing a local football team from the age of 5 -16.
